The FAIROS Program funds innovative projects that enhance findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable (FAIR) research data management and open science capabilities. It supports research, education, cyberinfrastructure development, new scientific communication models, data portals, and efforts to lower barriers to data access and management across many scientific disciplines. Applicants must choose between Disciplinary or Cross-Cutting Improvements and submit standard research proposals aligned with the NSF Public Access Initiative.
Eligibility is open to others as specified in additional information, with a strong recommendation for prospective PIs to contact program officers relevant to their disciplinary focus or cross-cutting improvements. Standard research proposals only.
