This funding opportunity supports veterinary diagnostic laboratories in the Vet-LIRN network for projects and equipment grants. Funded activities include developing and validating new methods related to animal food safety and antimicrobial resistance, conducting short-term surveillance, acquiring testing equipment, antimicrobial stewardship projects, sequencing isolates for AMR monitoring, and supporting One Health efforts including emerging diseases like COVID-19.
Eligible applicants include state, county, city, and tribal governments; nonprofits with or without 501(c)(3) status; public housing authorities; small businesses; school districts; and institutions of higher education, both public and private.
