Supports ARO scientific staff conducting hands-on basic research in collaboration with external institutions. Research focuses on advancing knowledge in engineering, physical, life, and information sciences. Staff research is managed by ARO scientists at institution facilities, with results contributing to publications, presentations, and student training. The program ensures mission integrity by disallowing conflicts of interest.
Eligible applicants include institutions of higher education with recognized research capabilities in mechanical, mathematical, electronic, computing, physical, life, materials, network, and environmental sciences. ARO scientific staff lead the research in collaboration with external PIs.
