This initiative funds research to develop and optimize targeted drug delivery systems such as engineered nanoparticles and extracellular vesicles to deliver therapeutics precisely to hard-to-reach locations like the blood-brain barrier, CNS, placenta, retina, or tumors. Projects should assess biodistribution, off-target effects, functional cargo activity, and optimal administration routes using multi-organ microphysiological systems.
