This funding supports collaborative research on advanced composite and materials for commercial aircraft, emphasizing safety assurance, certification standardization, durability, crashworthiness, additive manufacturing, and maintenance. Projects include applied research, evaluation of past applications, and development of engineering standards, alongside technology transfer and training activities.
Eligible applicants are member universities of the Joint Center of Excellence for Advanced Materials. Others may be eligible as specified in additional information.
