The Independent Scientist Award (K02) provides three to five years of salary support and protected time for newly independent scientists to focus intensively on research that advances their careers. This award excludes applicants proposing to lead independent clinical trials but allows research experience in trials led by others. The program is tailored to individual candidate needs to foster significant scientific contributions.
