This mentored research scientist development award supports new investigators in conducting research focused on preventing interpersonal violence and suicide among children and youth (birth to age 17). Funded research topics include adverse childhood experiences, child abuse and neglect, youth violence, intimate partner violence, sexual violence, suicide, and cross-cutting prevention strategies. The award aims to develop researchers' skills and promote independent research careers with practical prevention and intervention relevance.
Eligible applicants include public housing authorities, independent school districts, tribal governments, for-profit organizations, institutions of higher education, nonprofits, small businesses, and various government entities within the United States.
