The FAA Aviation Research Grants Program supports innovative research to address long-term growth and technical needs in civil aviation and commercial space transportation. Funded research spans physical, chemical, biological, medical, psychological, mathematical, and engineering sciences, focusing on topics like air traffic control, communications, navigation, surveillance, aviation weather, airports, aircraft safety, human factors, and systems science.
Eligible applicants include private institutions of higher education, nonprofits with 501(c)(3) status (excluding institutions of higher education), and public or state-controlled institutions of higher education.
