The CAREER Program supports early-career faculty who demonstrate potential for leadership in research and education. It funds activities that integrate these areas to build a foundation for a lifetime of academic leadership. The program encourages submissions from women, underrepresented minorities, and persons with disabilities. Awardees may be nominated for the prestigious PECASE award based on innovative research and community service.
Eligible applicants include early-career faculty at CAREER-eligible U.S. institutions of higher education and certain non-profit, non-academic organizations associated with research or education. PIs may submit only one proposal per year and participate in up to three competitions.
