This program funds collaborative research on brain and nervous system disorders across the lifespan, emphasizing neurological, neuromuscular, sensory, neuropsychiatric, neuroinfectious, cognitive, behavioral, and neurodevelopmental diseases. It supports basic, clinical, translational, and implementation research that leverages unique scientific contexts in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Projects must involve partnerships between U.S. and LMIC organizations to develop innovative, cost-effective interventions spanning diagnosis, treatment, and implementation.
Eligible applicants include U.S. state, county, city, and tribal governments, public and private educational institutions, nonprofits, for-profits, small businesses, federal agencies, and foreign institutions in LMICs. Applications must include at least one U.S. and one LMIC organization as partners
