This grant supports two tracks to build clinical and translational research capacity in states with historically low NIH funding. It funds workforce development, infrastructure enhancement, and statewide or multi-state networks to enable competitive clinical and translational research programs. Eligible organizations include governments, educational institutions, nonprofits, and businesses located in IDeA-eligible states. Applications undergo NIH peer review and must meet strict eligibility and overlap criteria.
