Supports basic and applied research in STEM fields excluding system or hardware development. Applicants are encouraged to submit white papers for feedback before full proposals. White papers can be submitted anytime during the open period, with full proposals submitted via Grants.gov. Separate white papers are required per proposal.
Eligible applicants include nonprofits with 501(c)(3) status (excluding higher education institutions), public and state-controlled institutions of higher education, and private institutions of higher education.
