This program supports early-stage clinical researchers with a unique two-phase NIH career development opportunity. Scholars receive up to 5-7 years as tenure-track investigators within the NIH Intramural Research Program with independent budgets, followed by up to 3 years of NIH support at extramural institutions or continued intramural research. The program fosters a bridge between NIH intramural and extramural research communities to improve human health.
Eligible applicants include state, county, city, and special district governments; public and private higher education institutions; Native American tribal governments and organizations; nonprofits; for-profit organizations; and small businesses.
