Supports institutional Center Core Grants that build research infrastructure by combining three or more resource and service cores to support groups of NEI R01-funded investigators. The grant promotes collaboration, resource consolidation, and cost effectiveness to advance vision research aligned with the NEI mission. Facilities and instrumentation too costly for individual investigators can be shared to increase productivity and foster new research.
Eligible applicants include public and state-controlled institutions of higher education, private institutions, nonprofits with or without 501(c)(3) status (excluding institutions of higher education), and for-profit organizations other than small businesses.
