This program provides partial reimbursement to eligible dental schools and accredited dental hygiene programs for unreimbursed oral health care costs incurred while serving low-income people with HIV. It also supports related education and training for dental providers. Funds are allocated annually based on prior year costs and patient volume, improving access to oral health services for this population.
Eligible applicants include public and state-controlled institutions of higher education, private institutions of higher education, and others as specified. Applicants must provide unreimbursed oral health care to patients with HIV.
