This competitive grant provides financial assistance to State entities to support the opening, replication, and expansion of high-quality charter schools serving elementary and secondary students. Funds may also support early childhood and postsecondary programs within charter schools. Eligible States must have statutes authorizing charter schools, and recipients award subgrants to eligible applicants.
Eligible applicants include nonprofits with 501(c)(3) status (excluding higher education institutions), State governments, and other entities as specified in additional eligibility information.
