This grant program supports projects that improve the safety, efficiency, and reliability of intercity passenger and freight rail. Funding is available to a broad range of eligible entities including government bodies, educational institutions, nonprofits, small businesses, and for-profit organizations. Projects should focus on rail infrastructure and safety improvements to enhance national rail transportation.
Eligible applicants include city, county, state, and tribal governments; private and public institutions of higher education; small businesses; nonprofits with 501(c)(3) status; and for-profit organizations other than small businesses.
