This grant funds projects that educate American Indian/Alaska Native youth ages 10-19 and expectant or parenting youth under 21 on abstinence, contraception, and prevention of pregnancy, STIs, and HIV. Funded projects must implement at least three of six congressionally mandated adulthood preparation subjects and replicate evidence-based programs proven effective in AI/AN communities. Education must be medically accurate, age-appropriate, and culturally relevant.
Eligible applicants include federally recognized Native American tribal governments, tribal organizations, and faith-based or community organizations meeting eligibility. Individuals and foreign entities are not eligible.
