This grant supports nonprofit organizations and institutions of higher education in activities that improve community capabilities to prepare for and respond to hazardous materials accidents. Funded activities include training state and local enforcement personnel on safe HAZMAT transportation. The goal is to improve accident readiness and safety outcomes across communities nationwide.
Eligible applicants include private and public institutions of higher education and nonprofits with or without 501(c)(3) status, excluding institutions of higher education where specified.
