This program funds state, local, and tribal law enforcement agencies to modernize outdated National Integrated Ballistic Information Network (NIBIN) technology at 194 existing sites. It covers acquisition of new NIBIN-compatible ballistic imaging equipment and maintenance costs for five years, supporting crime gun intelligence best practices and multi-jurisdictional responses to transnational criminal threats.
Eligible applicants are state, local, and tribal law enforcement jurisdictions listed in Appendix 1. Eligibility is restricted to these specified jurisdictions.
