This program funds demonstration or pilot projects by local, state, tribal, and territorial law enforcement agencies to increase capacity for innovative or evidence-based community policing initiatives. Projects should address one of eleven focus areas including domestic terrorism, violent crime, human trafficking, opioid markets, cybercrime, and officer recruitment. Partnerships and evaluation components are encouraged to enhance effectiveness and impact.
Eligible applicants include city or township governments, Native American tribal governments and organizations, special district governments, state governments, and county governments. Applicants must be law enforcement agencies or related entities.
