This NASA ROSES-2025 Biosphere program element funds research proposals focused on Earth science biosphere topics. It requires a two-step proposal submission process with Step-1 due September 4, 2026, and Step-2 due November 6, 2026. Step-2 proposals must be preceded by a compliant Step-1 proposal and include a 12-page S/T/M section. Applicants must complete research security training and proposals undergo dual anonymous peer review. Use of an optional Earth Science Division template for work effort summary is encouraged.
Applicants must be affiliated with a U.S. institution registered at nspires.nasaprs.com. Non-U.S. organizations may participate under specific conditions outlined in NASA's Grant and Cooperative Agreement Manual. Research security training is required for PIs and Co-Is dedicating 10% or more effort.
