This program provides financial assistance to First Nations entities, bands, and Indigenous representative organizations to research, develop, and submit specific claims under the Specific Claims Policy and Process Guide. It supports advancing reconciliation by funding claims research and development activities with a total budget of $12 million for fiscal years 2024 to 2026.
Eligible applicants include First Nations entities mandated by bands and First Nations to conduct specific claims research, bands and First Nations themselves, and Indigenous representative organizations.
