This grant supports projects that build journalism capacity in Indonesia, focusing on themes like press freedom, digital freedom, data-driven and investigative journalism, and AI in journalism. Priority is given to projects in Sumatra, West Java, Kalimantan, and Papua. Funded activities include structured training, content production, and strengthening networks among journalists and community groups to promote accurate reporting and counter misinformation.
Eligible applicants are Indonesian nationals who are individuals or teams of individuals working as journalists or directly in journalism, and who are past or current participants of U.S. government-sponsored exchange programs.
