This program funds state or regional consortia comprising governments, research institutions, industry, and philanthropy to expand AI compute infrastructure access for scientific discovery. It supports consortium coordination, AI workforce development, and faculty training to leverage AI in science, accelerating research and education opportunities.
Eligible applicants include U.S.-based non-profit, non-academic organizations associated with research or education, and accredited U.S. institutions of higher education acting on behalf of faculty. Proposals involving international branch campuses require justification.
