This program funds up to 24 multiyear grants totaling $14.4M to support basic science and engineering research collaborations between early-career and experienced faculty at institutions in eligible States and Territories. Awards provide up to $600,000 over three years to enhance research capabilities aligned with DoD mission and national security priorities. The collaboration structure fosters mentorship and growth of new DoD research investigators.
Eligible applicants are tenured or tenure-track faculty at institutions in specified States/Territories. The collaboration must include an early-career PI without prior DoD prime awards and a mentor co-PI with recent DoD prime award experience.
