This program supports multiyear science and engineering research collaborations between early-career faculty who have not previously led DoD-funded projects and experienced DoD-funded investigators. Grants up to $600,000 over three years aim to build research capacity at institutions in eligible States/Territories, focusing on projects relevant to DoD missions and national security. The program fosters mentorship and long-term growth in competitive DoD research funding.
Eligible applicants are tenured or tenure-track faculty at institutions in specified States/Territories who have never been a PI on a prior DoD directly funded Prime award. Collaborators must have active DoD Prime awards between 2018 and 2026 to provide mentorship.
