This program funds capacity building grants to increase the number and capabilities of university researchers in eligible States and Territories. It supports institutions of higher education to develop and execute science and engineering research aligned with Department of Defense missions, enhancing competitiveness for federal research funding. Awards are up to $1.5 million over two years, with up to four grants anticipated.
Eligible applicants are institutions of higher education in specified DEPSCoR States and Territories. Partnerships are allowed. The focus is on institutions aiming to achieve basic research excellence relevant to DoD missions.
