This program funds projects that protect and develop wildlife habitats, reintroduce species, conduct field studies, enforce wildlife laws, and provide education. It emphasizes collaboration with state agencies and partners to implement habitat treatments and conservation plans aligned with federal priorities and executive orders.
Eligible applicants include state, county, city, and special district governments; public and private higher education institutions; federally recognized and other Native American tribal governments and organizations; and nonprofits. Individuals and for-profit organizations are not eligible.
