This funding supports research to understand how variations in coastal geotechnical sediment properties influence geomorphic responses during storm events. The project aims to advance coupled ocean-wave-sediment modeling systems to predict coastal changes and support storm preparedness, infrastructure management, and energy resource security. It aligns with national strategies addressing natural disasters and energy emergencies, focusing on improving data and tools for severe storm event readiness.
Applicants must be participating partners of the Gulf Coast Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit (CESU) Program. Eligibility is limited to CESU partners involved in research, technical assistance, or education.
