This funding opportunity supports research to develop gridded, multi-month ecological drought forecasts and improve platforms delivering these forecasts to resource managers across western U.S. rangelands. The project will generate monthly, wall-to-wall weather and soil moisture forecasts using real-time National Weather Service data, producing continuously updated maps of soil drought and seed establishment probabilities.
