This cooperative agreement funds CESU partners to integrate a novel road network model into invasive quagga and zebra mussel risk assessments for Washington State and to expand these models for golden mussels in California. The project aims to identify optimal locations for mitigation interventions such as watercraft inspection stations and public information campaigns. Collaboration with USGS and resource managers ensures alignment with multiple Executive Orders protecting hydro-electric facilities and water infrastructure.
Eligible applicants must be participating partners of the Californian Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit (CESU) Program. This opportunity is limited to CESU partners providing research, technical assistance, or education.
