It supports fundamental science and engineering research and enhances research training at institutions of higher education and nonprofit research organizations. Proposals can request up to $4 million with waived cost sharing and are encouraged from underrepresented groups.
Eligible applicants are institutions of higher education and not-for-profit scientific or engineering research organizations in the nation. The program encourages proposals from underrepresented groups and institutions.
