This grant supports state, local, and tribal governments in preventing violent crime committed by criminal illegal aliens. Funding covers hiring sworn and non-sworn law enforcement and critical personnel, as well as purchasing technology and equipment to enhance criminal justice operations. Awards support participation in Homeland Security Task Force activities and DOJ efforts against gangs and cartels.
Eligible applicants include state, county, city, township, special district governments, federally recognized and other Native American tribal governments and organizations, and other units of local government such as towns and villages.
