Supports German-Israeli and broader Middle East collaborative research projects across all disciplines. Funding covers project costs including staff, travel, consumables, and scientific instrumentation (up to €10,000 per item). Projects can be funded up to six years, with initial proposals for three years. Proposals may be submitted anytime on a rolling basis. Bilateral Israeli-German proposals require submission under a joint initiative with the Israel Science Foundation.
Eligible applicants are researchers in all disciplines at German research institutions who have completed research training, generally a doctorate. Employees of purely commercial institutions or those unable to publish results publicly are not eligible.
