This call funds genomic science projects addressing biological functions relevant to biomanufacturing, critical minerals and materials, inter-organismal interactions, and predictive biology, modeling, and biodesign. Projects leveraging JGI's sequencing, synthesis, metabolomics, and analysis capabilities are prioritized. Human or animal disease-related research is excluded; plant pathogen and marine system projects must meet specific relevance criteria. No direct funding is provided; services are offered free to approved applicants.
Eligible projects exclude human or animal disease-related work. Plant pathogen studies must relate to bioenergy feedstock crops or model plants. Marine system projects must demonstrate relevance to freshwater, coastal, or terrestrial systems.
