This call supports investigators new to the JGI by funding pilot projects that provide feasibility data or foundations for larger CSP proposals. It offers free sequencing, synthesis, metabolomics, and analysis services up to 3 Tb of sequence data. Projects must be independent of ongoing JGI proposals, and lead PIs cannot have prior lead PI roles on accepted JGI CSP or FICUS proposals. Proposals are brief white papers submitted anytime, peer-reviewed for scientific merit and DOE mission relevance.
Eligible applicants are investigators and research initiatives new to the JGI. Lead PIs must not have been lead PI on any previously accepted JGI CSP or FICUS proposal. Applicants may submit up to two proposals per year and can be co-PI on unlimited proposals.
