The UC-HBCU Rising Stars Program offers a fully-funded 8- to 10-week summer research experience at IGI labs across UC Berkeley, UCSF, UC Davis, and UCLA. It provides stipend, housing, travel, mentoring, CRISPR training, social and professional development activities, and conference funding. Continued mentoring and benefits for UC Ph.D. admissions follow the summer program.
Eligible applicants are full-time sophomores, juniors, or non-graduating seniors in STEM at partner HBCUs who are U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or DACA recipients. Applicants must be committed full-time and interested in UC Ph.D. programs.
