The IEAS Graduate Fellowships support UC Berkeley continuing graduate students in East Asian and Southeast Asian Studies with awards up to $6,000. Funding supports pre-dissertation research, dissertation research, or write-up with a clear plan and expected outcomes. Applications require detailed proposals, budget, letters of recommendation, and IRB approval if applicable. Awards facilitate research across multiple countries or regions within East and Southeast Asia.
Open to continuing graduate students at UC Berkeley in East Asian and Southeast Asian Studies. Applicants may apply to only one of six Center/Institute competitions. Single-country focused work should apply to the appropriate Center.
