Supports intensive undergraduate research in mathematical sciences through REU sites that engage cohorts of 8 to 12 students annually on themed projects. Funding covers participant support costs including stipends, housing, meals, travel, and lab fees. Projects typically last three years. Proposals must follow NSF-wide REU solicitation guidelines and be submitted to the Division of Mathematical Sciences. Communication with program officers is encouraged for any deviations.
Eligible applicants are Principal Investigators submitting proposals to the Division of Mathematical Sciences. Undergraduate students apply directly to REU sites for participation.
