The HHMI Investigator Program offers long-term support to established mid-career and senior scientists whose research fundamentally changes biological understanding. It provides full salary and benefits as HHMI employees, generous research budgets, access to capital equipment, and professional development. Appointments start with a 7-year term, renewable indefinitely upon successful review.
Eligible applicants are mid-career or senior faculty in tenured or tenure-track positions with at least 7 years post-training lab head experience. Applicants must hold active, nationally competitive, non-training grants of three or more years.
