The Latham Humane Education Grants provide up to $10,000 for one-year projects that promote humane education through animal-assisted activities benefiting both people and animals. In 2023, the program highlights initiatives serving animals and military, veterans, first responders, and their families. Funds cannot be used for capital projects, equipment, publications, training, conference fees, travel, or guaranteed salaries beyond the initial grant period. Priority is given to U.S. nonprofits but other organizations are eligible.
Applicants must be U.S.-based organizations with domestic programs. Nonprofits have priority but 501(c)(3) status is not required. Programs should focus on animal-assisted activities with humane education, especially those serving animals and military, veterans, first responders, and their families
