This grant funds up to three pilot projects of $50,000 each focusing on biomedical, epidemiological, or clinical research related to human nutrition, animal studies translatable to human nutrition, or basic nutrition and obesity research. Projects must utilize UNC-CH NORC core services and are intended for new research. Institutional approvals and progress reporting are required.
Eligible applicants are faculty members or senior postdoctoral scholars at UNC-CH. Early career investigators and postdocs without prior NIH R01, P01, or R24 support are eligible. Established investigators new to nutrition and obesity research may also apply.
