This funding supports U.S. small businesses collaborating with nonprofit research institutions to continue or accelerate scientific research and development projects. It includes Phase II awards to advance prior Phase I work, Fast-Track applications combining Phase I and II, and Direct to Phase II applications for projects with demonstrated feasibility. The focus is on technology transfer and bringing innovations to market.
Eligible applicants are U.S. small business concerns partnering with nonprofit research institutions. Principal investigators must be employed by either the small business or the partnering institution. Collaborating institutions cannot apply independently.
