Supports graduate student research in Latin America, the Caribbean, the U.S. on Latinx Studies, and Spain or Portugal on Latin America topics. Awards cover travel, lodging, meals, and research expenses for Master's thesis and preliminary doctoral dissertation field visits. Recipients must spend at least two weeks in the field. IRB approval is required for research involving human or animal subjects. Proposals crossing disciplinary boundaries are encouraged.
Open to graduate students at University of Florida, prioritizing those pursuing a Graduate Certificate or M.A. in Latin American Studies. Only one grant per student per degree. Ph.D. students advanced to candidacy are not eligible. Recipients must spend at least two weeks in the field.
