This grant supports island and remote coastal communities facing high energy costs by funding projects in municipal building energy improvements, energy generation or storage, and community-based energy coaching. It aims to help communities move from planning to implementation, strengthen local capacity, and deliver equitable, durable reductions in energy burden across island and coastal Maine.
Eligible applicants include municipalities, public schools, energy committees, and energy coaching programs. Priority is given to projects benefiting low-income residents and those demonstrating strong local coordination.
