This grant supports programs in California EMS pilot sites to increase the number of Emergency Medical Technicians by recruiting and training ethnically and culturally diverse individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds. Funded activities include cohort training programs, wrap-around support services, and partnerships with local EMS authorities and fire departments. The goal is to address workforce shortages and improve community healthcare through sustainable industry collaboration and career pathway development.
Eligible applicants include nonprofits, public agencies, and tribal governments located within the 10 specified California EMS pilot site counties. Applications from outside these pilot sites will not be considered.
