The Stream Flow Enhancement Program funds projects across California that improve the amount, timing, or quality of stream flows to support fish and wildlife. Eligible projects include planning, scientific studies, implementation, and acquisition, with a focus on watershed approaches, critical salmonid habitats, and climate resilience. Projects aligned with the California Water Action Plan and those enhancing the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta watershed receive priority.
Eligible applicants include nonprofits, public agencies, and tribal governments. Private landowners, public utilities, and mutual water companies may also apply. Matching funds are not required but can improve scoring.
