Supports grants for restoring and enhancing California prairie and other breeding habitats for monarch butterflies and pollinators on private and public lands. Also funds restoration of overwintering habitats and provides technical assistance to recipients such as farmers and ranchers. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis with a total fund of $3 million.
Eligible applicants include nonprofits, public agencies, and tribal governments. Cost share is not required but applications with secured cost share may score higher.
