This program provides $1.4 billion in low-cost financing to charter schools for constructing new permanent school facilities or rehabilitating existing district facilities. Funding is split evenly between grants and loans. Applicants must pass a financial soundness review. The program is ongoing and administered jointly by the California School Finance Authority and the Office of Public School Construction.
Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations and public agencies. Charter schools throughout the state may apply for funding to support facility construction or rehabilitation projects.
