Projects should deliver deployable demonstrator capabilities, generate high-quality environmental data, and demonstrate pathways for wider adoption. Collaboration across environmental science, engineering, robotics, and data science is encouraged, with a focus on lasting benefits for environmental observing capability.
Applicants must be based at UK research organisations eligible for NERC funding, including academic researchers and multidisciplinary teams. Collaboration with industry and non-academic stakeholders is encouraged. International collaborators may participate but cannot receive funding.
